As an “Intuit Developer Network” member, Genesis Software Corp. created the “Remote Register for QuickBooks®” software so that the users of Intuit’s QuickBooks® product can directly benefit from Genesis Software Corp.’s “Remote Register” for the Pocket PC mobile device product.
Genesis Software Corp.’s Remote Register Pocket PC product provides the services of a stand alone electronic transaction register. The Remote Register software, while a hand held application, is designed and created with the capability to integrate its data and services with any financial management software on the Desktop PC.
Thus, the “Remote Register for QuickBooks®” is an associated Desktop PC software application that communicates with the QuickBooks® “Company File” and the “Remote Register” software on the Mobile Pocket PC or Palm device.
Using the “Remote Register for QuickBooks®” Desktop PC portion of this application suite, you perform two (2) steps.
First, you will read and copy the Account and Contact information in the QuickBooks® Company file into the Desktop PC software. The Desktop PC software displays the lists of Accounts and Contacts to you so you can direct what specific information will be sent, (or “exported”), to the Mobile Pocket PC device. The information is exported to the Pocket PC device as files that are read into, (or “imported” into), the Pocket PC software and subsequently used in transactions that are recorded by the Pocket PC software.
The second step occurs after the Pocket PC software “exports” the transactions it has recorded into a file. The resulting “transaction” file is read into the Desktop PC software. The Desktop PC software displays the recorded transactions thus, allowing you to make any corrections, (like crediting a transaction to a different expense account), and then transfers the transactions into the appropriate account registers in the QuickBooks® company file.
The Remote Register for use with QuickBooks® software while providing a benefit to users of Intuit’s QuickBooks® product is in no way associated with Intuit Inc.
